SUMMARY:Beekeeping 101 with Jay Hudson
DESCRIPTION:Jay Hudson is a third generation beekeeper with 16 years of experience in beekeeping. In this presentation\, Jay will review a brief history of the art of beekeeping\, the importance of honeybees in our ecosystem\, the roles of bees within the colony\, the components of a beehive\, and the challenges beekeepers face today. The mountains in both Henry and Patrick Counties are part of a unique honey production region and there will be a couple of varieties of honey from this area for tasting! This program\, which is free and open to the public\, will be Tuesday\, October 14 at 10:30am and will be held in the Susan L. Adkins Memorial Meeting Room.

DESCRIPTION:Genealogy Classes \nA series of four classes on genealogical research will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Bassett Historical Center on the first four Tuesdays in September (2nd\, 9th\, 16th\, 23rd). There is absolutely no charge for these classes. When you sign up for the first class\, you will automatically be signed up for the other three classes. The classes are limited to 12 people\, so please call the Bassett Historical Center at 276-629-9191 to reserve your spot!
