Join us for a night of holiday magic during ‘A Night at the Museum with Santa!’ on Friday\, December 5 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Virginia Museum of Natural History! Event admission is free\, but ticket reservations are required to attend.\nCome meet Santa in this ‘Polar Express’ themed event and participate in holiday-themed crafts\, while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and cookies on us! Be sure to receive a gift from Santa’s jolly elves as you depart (while supplies last)! Also be sure to save time to tour the exhibit galleries and shop at the Museum Store for unique holiday gifts and stocking stuffers!\n \nTICKET RESERVATIONS\nOnly a limited number of tickets to this event are available. The opportunity to reserve tickets will close on November 28 OR once all available tickets have been reserved (whichever comes first).\nTickets can be reserved online or you can pre-register at the museum box office. Free departure gifts are available only while supplies last. DESCRIPTION:Join Piedmont Arts for its annual production of the Roanoke Symphony Holiday Pops Spectacular at 3 p.m.\, Sunday\, Dec. 7 at Martinsville High School Auditorium. \nThere’s no better way to lift your spirits than with the music of the season delivered in full sound and spectacle by the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. David Stewart Wiley conducts the Holiday Pops with all the magical elements you have come to expect — high energy\, familiar carols and lots of holiday warmth. \nEvent schedule: \n1:30 p.m. – Lobby and box office open\n2 p.m. – Auditorium opens\n3 p.m. – Concert begins \nFamily or individual adult WIC cardholders with ID receive free general admission. Tickets can be picked up at Piedmont Arts or at the door on the night of the event. Altrusa will collect non-perishable food items for Grace Network in the lobby during the symphony’s performance. \nTickets are $30 for reserved seating\, $20 for general admission and $10 for students in grades K-12. \nSponsored by Brightspeed. This performance is partially supported by funding from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

DESCRIPTION:Town of Ridgeway will be hosting its annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday\, December 6\, 2025. The much-anticipated parade will begin at 5:30 pm\, and the Tree Lighting Ceremony will be in Ridgeway Park following the parade. \nThey will have pictures with Santa\, free cookies\, hot chocolate\, and roasted chestnut samples. The Magna Vista Choir will be performing on the gazebo. They will also have food and dessert vendors\, and will be selling Ridgeway Christmas Apparel.  \nThey will be collecting donations for the Henry County Animal Shelter. DESCRIPTION:Piedmont Arts will kick off the holiday season with the annual lighting of Art Garden Christmas tree from 4-6 p.m.\, Thursday\, Dec. 4 in the Gravely-Lester Art Garden. \nEnjoy holiday music by the Martinsville High School Jazz Band and the First Baptist Church Choir\, Gale Buck: Storytelling Santa\, snacks and crafts. This event is free and open to the public. \nJust like the sculptures in the Art Garden\, the Christmas tree is a work of art. It is created by Ian Hogg using more than 3\,000 lights. The tree will be lit at sunset and brighten the Art Garden through New Year’s Day. \nSponsored by Brightspeed and Carter Bank.
