DESCRIPTION:Martinsville Speedway will once again host a Holiday Run Festival on Saturday\, Dec. 6\, the same day as the annual Christmas Track Laps for Toy Drive event at the famed short track. \n  \nThe Holiday Run Festival will feature the Southside 10K run and 5K run or walk\, with a portion of each entry fee going directly towards the toy drive’s fundraising efforts\, benefiting Grace Network of Martinsville and Henry County. This will be the 31st year Martinsville Speedway has hosted the toy drive giving fans the opportunity to drive around the historic half-mile by donating to the cause.  \n  \n“The Annual Christmas Toy Drive is such an important event here in our community\, bringing everyone together to support those throughout the Martinsville Henry-County and beyond during the holiday season\,” said Clay Campbell\, Martinsville Speedway President. “Grace Network has been an essential part of this fundraiser\, that truly keeps growing every year. It’s a testament to the ability this place has to bring people together\, and everything Martinsville Speedway represents.”  \n  \nThose in the greater Martinsville region can start their morning with the Youth in Motion 5K\, beginning at 9 a.m.\, or the Southside 10K\, beginning at 10 a.m.\, then swap out their tennis shoes for tires during the track laps event at the speedway from 5 – 7 p.m. Community members can donate an unwrapped toy or $25 for the opportunity to drive laps around the iconic Virginia track in their personal vehicles.  \n  \nThose in attendance can enjoy an evening filled with festive fun with a Martinsville Speedway twist. Fans can grab a famous Martinsville Hot Dog and top off their meal with Christmas cookies available at the Hot Dog Stand. Afterwards\, families and friends can head on over to Victory Lane for a picture with Santa ahead of the holiday season.  \n  \nThe donated toys and monetary donations will be distributed to area children through Grace Network of Martinsville and Henry County\, which is a faith-based\, first-stop center for resources for families in crisis. The organization supports those in the community who need support to keep a roof over their heads\, homes warm and lighted\, and food on the table with short-term assistance and long-term solutions. SUMMARY:Holiday Run Festival
DESCRIPTION:Miles in Martinsville in partnership with the Martinsville Speedway presents the 2025 Holiday Run Festival.  \nThis December 6 event will be run in conjunction with the annual Martinsville Speedway Toy drive.  The Holiday Run Festival will feature a 5Krun/walk/ ruck and a 10K run/ ruck an hour later\, allowing participants to do both the 5K and 10K if they so desire.  Both races start and finish on the iconic Martinsville Speedway.     \nThe  5K run/walk or ruck  will start at 9:00 AM.  This race will include serious competitors of all ages and will include the participation of a significant number of youngsters along with their coaches and mentors. \nThe 5K Toy Walk  will be open to those who just want to walk the course and enjoy the ambience of the Speedway venue.  Walkers will not be eligible for awards or race shirts and will not receive a race bib.  \nThe 10K run or ruck will start an hour later at 10:00 AM.  The 10K is a great steppingstone for those runners who are considering stepping up to a half marathon or full marathon.  \nLooking for more miles?  Check out our 15K DOUBLE CHALLENGE.  Register for both races under the category: 15K Double Challenge.  Run/ ruck both the 5K and the 10K at scheduled times.  Both race times will be added together for the 15K results. \nRUCKERS\, the minimum weight will be 15# and we ask that you fill your ruck with new\, unwrapped toys for the Martinsville Speedway Toy Drive.  Awards will be given to top 3 males and females in both the 5K and 10K. \nAll runners/ ruckers will receive the official tech fabric short sleeve race shirt if registered by November 20.  Those registering after Nov 20 will receive shirts subject to available supply. \n15K double challenge participants will also receive a special finisher medal. \nParticipants will compete for Overall & Age Group awards in all three race categories. Note: 15K registrants may earn awards in each the 5K and 10K as well as the 15K.   \nALL\, PLEASE BRING A NEW UNWRAPPED TOY FOR THE MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY TOY DRIVE.

DESCRIPTION:Piedmont Arts will kick off the holiday season with the annual lighting of Art Garden Christmas tree from 4-6 p.m.\, Thursday\, Dec. 4 in the Gravely-Lester Art Garden. \nEnjoy holiday music by the Martinsville High School Jazz Band and the First Baptist Church Choir\, Gale Buck: Storytelling Santa\, snacks and crafts. This event is free and open to the public. \nJust like the sculptures in the Art Garden\, the Christmas tree is a work of art. It is created by Ian Hogg using more than 3\,000 lights. The tree will be lit at sunset and brighten the Art Garden through New Year’s Day. \nSponsored by Brightspeed and Carter Bank.
